Assignments for Sept 19-23

I apologize for the late notice on the assignments for this week.  I was out two days this week for illness and it has taken me a while to get everything back in order for this week.

Geometry: We worked on sections 1.1 and 1.2 in the book.  These sections involve Points, Lines and Planes as well as segment congruence.  We had Club Day on Wednesday, Plan testing on Thursday morning and Career Fair on Friday.  This has been a week completely out of routine.

Algebra:  We worked on Sections 2.1-2.4.  These sections involve Properties of Real Numbers.  Students took a quiz on Monday over sections 1.6-1.7.  These will be in Infinite Campus soon.

Once again, I do apologize for the late notice.

These are sections 1.2-1.4 in the textbook.

Students will have a quiz over Expressions and Equations/Inequalities.

Students will continue to review the process of Order of Operations.

We will also continue to look at reviewing Basic Skills.

GPA, KEES money, Transcript, Falcon Academy

It has been a great week.

Mrs. Boaz spent two days in my Geometry classes explaining the importance of Falcon Academy as well as many other things.  All Geometry students received information on KEES money and were told how to calculate that.  All Geometry students received a copy of their transcript, a copy of their PLAN scores and information on Falcon Academy Dual-Credit Courses.  She also explained how their ACT score will affect so many aspects of their future.

I thank Mrs. Boaz so much for taking the time to explain all of this information to my Sophomore and Junior students.

Tuesday August 23 assignments

Today is Algebra 1 we started Chapter 1.  Chapter 1 introduces variables and order of operations.  Students were assigned pp. 5-6 (3-45) every 3rd problem.  We will check this tomorrow in class, finish out the section and do an activity.  If we have enough time, we will then start the next section which is order of operations.

Today in Geometry we worked on skills review.  Students were assigned p 880 which is solving equations for y.  This is review on rewriting the equation in slope intercept form.  Tomorrow students will take a quiz on inequalities and the Foil method.

Tutoring Schedule

We are off to a great start.  We have been working on skills review in my Algebra 1 and Geometry classes. All sophomores will take the PLAN test on September 22 so we are working on review for that.

We are finishing up our skills review in Algebra 1 so we will be starting Unit One tomorrow. This unit is over Order of Operations.

I am also offering tutoring to all of my students.  Here is a list of times that I am available for the first nine weeks.

Also, all students can re-take quizzes.  All students received this schedule as well as this example of the re-take grade.

Mrs. Fisk Tutoring for August and September

You can retake a quiz only once and it has to be in tutoring.  The two grades will be averaged together. For example if you make a 12/25 on the first quiz and a 20/25 on the retake then the averaged grade will be a 16/25 and that is the grade that will be recorded.
